Vision and values Our vision is to create homes and neighbourhoods where people want to live and to provide related services that help people to achieve their full potential.

Our Mission Our Vision

Key Communities aims to be a lead development partner and provider of affordable housing across central, southern and eastern England. Our vision is to create homes and neighbourhoods where people want to live and to provide related services that help people to achieve their full potential. In doing this we will utilise the assets and resources of the seven partners.

This mission and vision is underpinned by some important and principled values:

Thinking Regionally Acting Locally
We have the size and purchasing power to deliver efficient, high quality homes and services across a wide area. However, our primary focus will be on neighbourhoods and communities, and we will use our assets and resources to create places where people want to build their lives, regardless of their tenure or personal circumstances, both now and in the future. Local management, local accountability and local decision-making are key priorities for us.

An ethical approach that promotes social justice
We will promote inclusive neighbourhoods where diversity is valued and fairness is paramount. We recognise that peoples’ needs and aspirations are different and will aim to create environments where individuals will thrive.  In our dealings with residents, staff, and other stakeholders we will seek to be open, honest and ethical.

Traditional values with an innovative approach
We will promote traditional values of neighbourliness, trust, community self-help and tolerance. We will also seek to use the latest technology and the latest methods in pursuing our vision and objectives.

A long-term approach
We want to create stable, long-lasting neighbourhoods that are safe, sustainable and secure. We are not interested in short-term opportunism if this leads to low quality homes in bad neighbourhoods. This emphasis upon quality means that we will seek to build long-term, open and trusting relationships with residents, local authorities, funders and other stakeholders. We will also aim to minimise carbon footprint.

Investing in people
We value our people – whether staff, residents or other stakeholders. We will invest time and resources to ensure that our people can achieve their aspirations and fulfil their full potential.
