Colne Housing Society - helping you to save a little extra

Saving for a rainy day is not an easy thing to do, but Colne Housing is hoping that it will become a little easier with the introduction of a collection point for the Essex Savers Credit Union at its town centre offices.

The Colchester based Society has launched the service so that anyone living or working in the county of Essex can either save money, or take out a loan at a low rate of interest. The difference between Essex Savers Credit Union and a bank is that the Union is a profit-sharing, non-political, financial co-operative, which is owned and controlled by its members, and exists exclusively to help members save and borrow.

Chief Executive of Colne Housing, Mark Powell Davies said: “As a regional housing association, it is important to be an integral part of our community, and we feel the introduction of the Essex Savers collection point enables us to offer those living in our area an alternative to traditional banking. Credit Unions provide an excellent way to save as much or as little as possible and to be able to borrow money in a safe and secure way.”

The collection point at Colne’s offices in Colchester is open from 3pm - 4pm every Tuesday and from 10am -11am every Wednesday.

If you live in Colchester, it is worth remembering that you can also contact the Colchester Credit Union at Colchester Credit Union Limited, Greenstead Co-operative Resource Centre, COLCHESTER, CO4 3PX Tel: 01206 798823.
