Leading Essex based housing association Colne Housing, has further strengthened its internal team with the appointment of five new members of staff.

Marnie Cameron has joined the Society as Community Development Officer. With a wealth of experience behind her, Marnie will be responsible for building relationships with local communities, and will work with external agencies including the police, youth workers, and the local council to create partnerships that will result in safer, happier neighbourhoods.

Sophie Hurst is the new leader of the Housing Team at Colne. Having worked as a Housing Officer at Colchester Borough Homes for 5 years, Sophie is well equipped for her new role at the forefront of estate management. Furthermore, Sophie is also currently studying for a Chartered Institute of Housing Foundation degree, and is about to embark on year 3 of the 4 year course.

Jason Creighton is the new Income Management Team Leader. Having worked in Income Management for a number of other local housing associations during the past 10 years, Jason’s previous experience, knowledge and skills, will enable him to undertake the sensitive issue of rent management.

Heidi Hatch will be managing the Society’s services to Colne’s vulnerable residents in her new role as Supported Housing Co-ordinator. By organising disabled adaptation requests and referrals to floating support services Heidi will provide a valuable first point of contact.

And finally…

Helen Scatola has joined Colne as its new in-house Public Relations and Communications Officer. Responsible for all the Society’s public relations, marketing and communications material, Helen will provide a first point of contact for the press.

Commenting on the new appointments, Chief Executive Mark Powell Davies said, “Each of our new recruits brings a different skill set to the Colne Housing mix and reflects the growth and strength of the society. We welcome them all and wish them long and successful careers.
